I recently starting using this web-based blog agregator: http://www.bloglines.com. Works really well except for few friends who use blog system which don't publish a RDF or atom feed.

Engaged art: Try to represent the personal interests at work (and its associated hypocrisy) in the media, business and political scenes where supposedly the interest of the group go first?

Change of point of view - When living in the US, it did not seem to me that the US was particularly self-centered on its own interests (*), but it seems to me that more and more the world views itself as a victim of the US and its $$$ interests - a victim bound to its torturer.

(*) defined within the limits of its own definition of the politically-correct.

While at a jazz-electro-sax performance of Daisuke Fujiwara at an exhibition of Tadayuki Naito with Azabu's matsuri going on outside, the music took me into deep thoughts/vision of Basquiat walking down the streets of New York, the head full of signs and incantations, thinking about what to paint next - through his voodoo sacred dark and enthusiastic language.

But what was Basquiat trying to say exactly through his paintings? My recurring question (**) is whether there was some kind of hidden narrative framework in his work. Through distorted figures, words-grafittis, unfunctional unsane diagrams, he stimulates the viewer internally, in unknown ways, waking up narritives bits and pieces inside...

(**) disapointing how the art world (here in tokyo) seems so devoid of narrative elements. Just concepts, not uninteresting, but so flat, empty shells à la dérive.
